How To

Managing member access

Promoting an admin, or revoking someone's access.

Any Admin can change another member's role or revoke their access entirely from the Members page — this is where you manage who's on your team and what they can do, once they've already joined (see inviting a team member for how someone joins in the first place).

Admin vs. Member

  • Admin can invite and remove members, manage billing, and see organization-wide statistics and every sent attachment.
  • Member can send protected attachments and see their own sent items, but can't manage other people's access or billing.

Your organization must always have at least one Admin — you can't demote the last remaining one down to Member; add or promote someone else first if you need to step back.

Revoking access

Removing someone's access takes effect immediately: their outgoing relay stops routing mail right away, and everything they've sent through it is removed. This can't be undone, so it's meant for someone who's actually leaving your organization — not a way to temporarily pause an account. You can't revoke your own access from this page; another Admin needs to do it if that's ever needed.

Revoking a member is different from a recipient losing access to a file they received — this page only ever affects your own organization's members, never the people you've sent attachments to.
